We've listened to your feedback about how we can improve Instant Accounts, and have made some important changes that will help you get more done each day, stay in control of your accounts and help you grow your business. Stay in control with new Lock Date and Chart of Accounts

Lock Date

The new Sage Instant Accounts has the ability to set a 'Lock Date', which restricts people from posting before the date that has been 'locked' or closed-off.

You can now set a date that is allowable and not allowable for posting transactions - so you'll always being in complete control of your finances up to the specific date of your choice.

This new feature means there's no danger of your financial data being skewed by late postings, and you'll always be 100% confident that your financial results will add-up when you present them to your colleagues or management. So there'll be no more figures that don't match up at month end or year end, and less chance of any embarrassing mistakes or costly errors.

Chart of Accounts

The Chart of Accounts in the new Sage Instant Accounts has been simplified to save you time and effort, and give you even tighter control of your accounts.

The new list of pre-defined nominal codes saves you time by allowing you to choose codes that suit your business type. For example, if you're a limited company you can choose from a list of codes that are commonly used by businesses like yours, so you won't have to spend time manually setting them up.

The nominal codes in the new Instant Accounts have also been refreshed and modernised to reflect today's business world, so you won't have to go to the effort of manually changing the default nominal codes.

Reporting has also been significantly improved to give you quick and easy insight into your accounts. You can now see profit before and after tax at a glance. Plus, you can now see a quick summary of your Chart of Accounts in the new preview pane, so you don't have to waste time and effort printing to see an amended Chart of Accounts.

Save time with 'Quick Search' and 'Quick Print'

Quick search

Speed up the way you work with the new 'Quick Search'.  This new feature lets you search through large amounts of data at the touch of a button. You'll find it in the key areas in Instant Accounts - Customers, Suppliers and Products.

No longer will you have to waste time individually building up complex and lengthy search criteria - all you have to do is type in what you're looking for and hit 'Quick search'.  It's as easy as that.

You can find customers, suppliers, products, invoices and quotations in seconds and save yourself valuable time and effort.  Watch the video above to see it in action.

Quick print

The new 'Quick Print' feature in Instant Accounts lets you easily use your favourite invoice and quote layouts when you're printing them out. 

Located in the 'Invoices' area of Instant Accounts, you'll be able to set default layouts to use when you print - saving you manually choosing your layout each time. 

If you've customised your quotes and invoices with your own layouts and logo, you can now select them as your default. So you can be sure you'll always project a professional image with your printed quotes and invoices.
