In Depth product information

Easy to set up and use

Having the UK's market leading payroll software for small to medium businesses doesn't really mean a lot to your business if it is too time consuming or too complex to use.
We could tell you about how Sage 50 Payroll annual licence plan for 25 employees is quick and easy to install or how the intuitive start up wizard will help get you up and running, but rather than take our word for it, why not listen to what our customers think...

Stay within the law

As an employer, there are a number of legal requirements you have when it comes to paying your employees. From recording tax and national insurance contributions and making your payments and submitting your returns on time. Fail to keep adequate records and you can be charged a penalty of up to £3,000. By using Sage 50 Payroll annual licence plan for 25 employees it will help you:

  • Automatically calculate tax, national insurance and statutory payments.
  • Stay fully compliant with legislation by ensuring you always receive the latest updates.
  • Securely submit all in year and payroll year end returns to the HMRC.

Pay everyone at the right rate, at the right time

Salary, double time, time in lieu, holiday pay, bonus. All businesses are not the same. We all pay our employees a range of different payment types. Not only that, it is a legal requirement to provide your staff with written confirmation of their pay each and every time they are paid. To ensure your payroll software aligns to your business, Sage 50 Payroll annual licence plan for 25 employees allows you to:

  • Set up unlimited custom payment and deduction types.
  • Define the rates, payment frequency, working patterns and even process net to gross payments.
  • Print or securely email your employees a copy of their payslip.
  • Pay both your employees and HMRC electronically through the in-built e-Banking module.
  • Store, keep track of and even reprint up to 7 years' worth of historical payroll information.
  • 1 in 4 employed people in the UK are paid using Sage Payroll*

Submit your returns on line

Almost all employers are required by law to complete a number of tasks at the end of each Payroll year (April 5th). Failure to file your Employer Annual Return, accurately and on time will result in a penalty of up to £3,000. Don't worry, with Sage 50 Payroll annual licence plan for 25 employees you can:

  • Follow a simple 10 step wizard that will guide you through the entire year end process.
  • Submit your P35, P14, P11D(b) safely and electronically via a secure link to the online HMRC portal.
  • Submit and receive additional statutory forms electronically such as P45, P60 and tax code notifications.

Save time with automatic calculations

You don't need to know how to manually calculate your director's national insurance if they're paid monthly, with a quarterly bonus and multiple pension schemes (yes there are people who are actually paid this way). Sage 50 Payroll annual licence plan for 25 employees takes away the pressure and the need for payroll (and mathematics) experts by:

  • Always using the latest legislation.
  • Automating PAYE, NIC, pensions and all statutory payments (sickness, maternity etc).
  • Allowing you to connect to and automatically post your salary journals directly to either Sage Instant Accounts or Sage 50 Accounts.

Keep all your employee information in one place

As much as you want your employees to develop their careers, trying to keep track of pay changes, job titles, bonuses and the like, you could end up with a lot of files here there and everywhere. With Sage 50 Payroll annual licence plan for 25 employees you can:

  • Maintain and access all employee information in one place, including personal details, tax code, NI number as well as their payment history and their year to date values.
  • Record and keep track of your employee's holiday entitlement and specify how this is calculated in either total days or hours worked.
  • Store any appraisal and disciplinary records, company car details and attach documents and images to each of the employee records such as cv's or identity cards.
  • Assign employees to specific departments allowing you to have a much clearer view on costs.
  • Print from over 50 employee reports or create your own with the in-built report designer

* figure taken from the number of people's end of year payroll returns submitted through Sage, as a proportion of the UK employed public.

Licence Information

  • Sage 50 Payroll annual licence plan for 25 employees permits one installation of the program, on a single machine. If you want to keep a backup of the program and data on a seperate machine, you would need to purchase an additional installation licence.
