Recommended hardware
There are several things to set-up before you can accept payments online, over the phone or via mail order.
Internet merchant account
If you don’t have an internet merchant account, Sage Pay now has the most competitive merchant services rates on the market.
If you already have a merchant account and don’t want to switch, you can use your existing merchant account. We’re a bank independent PSP and work with all other major UK and Ireland acquiring banks too.
Mail order and telephone (MOTO) payments
To accept payments over the phone or by mail order, you may need a separate MOTO merchant account number, this will depend on your bank and the arrangement you have with them, so it’s a good idea to check. As soon as you have one, we can add the facility to your account.
If you don’t have a merchant account, we are happy to help with this.
Integration
There are several ways to integrate Sage Pay Go with your website. This will depend on whether you are hosting your website yourself (you have your own server) or whether you are on a shared server.
With Sage Pay Go, you will be able to choose from the Form, Server and Direct integration options.
The type of shopping cart or ecommerce platform you are using may also have an impact on the way you integrate with a payment gateway, so it’s useful to check this too.
The type of customer experience you would like to offer your customers will influence the way you integrate Sage Pay Go as well.
